Recall in your imagination the
insults which could come upon you; this will help you to grow in this
virtue and to find humiliation sweet and familiar. Study within
yourself how to accept these imagined insults, in spite of your
obstinate nature; they are tokens of God’s love for you and sure means
of sanctification. Perhaps in so doing you will have to struggle, but be
courageous and strong in the fight, until you feel firm and well
determined to suffer everything joyfully for the love of Jesus Christ.
